Australia Vs Pakistan U19 World Cup:

Australia took a frenzied single-wicket victory with just five balls remaining during their under-19 World Cup semi-final against Pakistan at Willowmoore Park on Thursday.

Australia will face India in the final match at the same location on Sunday.

Pakistan Were Defeated By 179 Runs:

Tom Straker led a potent Australian fast-bowling attack, getting six wickets for the 24th time in the process. Pakistan were defeated by 179 runs after being handed the bat.

In spite of 50 runs scored from Harry Dixon and 49 by Oliver Peake, Australia found themselves in the midst of defeat when they were beaten by their ninth wicket and the need for 16 more runs.

Raf MacMillan And the Last Player:

Raf MacMillan and the last player Callum Vidler saw Australia home With MacMillan hitting the winning runs by securing an edge inside the ball that went to the line of the leg to score four times.

Spinners with left-arms Arafat Minhas (2-20) and fast-bowler Ali Raza (4-34) led the Pakistan fightback.

Minhas has also been dazzling with his bat. Minhas along with Azan Awais each scored 52, allowing Pakistan to score a hundred that they could have come close to winning.

The big Straker upset the Pakistani cricketers with his the aggressive, quick-pitched ball on a surface that had the bounce and pace.

“We discussed before the match about not giving the players nothing to do,” said Straker, who had the highest bowling performance in any under-19 World Cup semi-final or final.

India (five) as well as Australia (three) has both won more under-19 World Cup titles than any other nation. The two nations have played in two prior finals, 2012 and in 2018, and India triumphing both times.
